The Hamilton (my condo building), located in the Tenderloin (AKA the-lowest-of-lower-nob-hill) was featured in the Home and Garden section of the Chronicle--yay! Actually one of our owners, Pat Carney who is an architect for Heller Manus, was spotlighted. He has devoted what little free time he has to restoring our public spaces to their original art deco splendor. You should see the patio and the 16th floor roof garden, not shown in the article...just spectacular. I've been raving about this best kept secret for years!
His apartment and the story of the Hamilton are featured in the article. Read it! I love how owners transform these little studios into something grand. It reminds me so much of New York--almost everyone has a small apartment. With some creative thinking 500 square feet can feel quite roomy. We are still working on our skypalace, but it is coming along.
